The Pantone Color Report always makes me giddy with inspiration but the Spring 2010 palette makes me especially optimistic about the new year. How fitting that they dub the Spring 2010 color forecast as "splashes of sunshine". Take a look at the happy colors!

While I didn't predict the color forecast, I'm wondering if I might obtain some uncanny trendsetting powers! Let's see...when my husband and I moved to our current abode last February, the first thing we did was paint every room. My office (which will soon be repainted & transformed into a nursery) is a Coral Spice. As much as I love orange, orange walls might be a little much. Going with Coral Spice allowed me to have a tamer form of it on my walls—although my husband still insists on telling everyone I painted one of our rooms PINK. :)
The accent wall in our bedroom is Electric Blue, which is almost a perfect match to Pantone Amparo Blue. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this color and, even though I never thought of blue as cheery, this shade definitely packs a punch! Pantone describes it as having "more warmth than the typical spring navy, this particular shade of blue is extremely appealing because of its brighter, more energetic attitude."

Note: This is NOT our bedroom—just my electric blue inspiration. ;)
I love how the Pantone Color Report describes Pink Champagne as "bubbly luxury". This is the main color I used for my personal branding and website and added touches of brown and coral to shake it up a bit. Pink champagne paired with chocolate brown was the color palette for my wedding. Since then, they've become a sort of signature color combo for me. Do you feel this way about any colors?

I love what designer, Erin Fetherston says,
"People need to be inspired, and color creates excitement and desire."I'm sure all of our heads are full of ideas now and we'll either be slapping a new coat of paint on the walls, buying a new purse in one of these trendy colors, putting together a wedding inspiration board or, in my case, designing some new color-inspired wedding invitations. As if a new year wasn't reason enough to be happy!
